Most of the waste water treatment plants (Effluent Treatments) in the country are based on different versions of 'Biological Process' & designed to trap the dissolved oxygen present in the atmosphere & dissolve it in the waste water to oxidize the organic contaminations/ pollutants to carbon-di-oxide & water.

Unfortunately, dissolving atmospheric oxygen in the wastewater has never been simple & it depends upon:

  • Ambient Temperature.

  • Salinity of the wastewater.

  • Type of devices such as Diffusers, Surface Aerators, etc that is used for this purpose & their own efficiency.

  • Location of the wastewater treatment plant.

  • How well the plant is designed.

  • Sincerity with which the plant is being operated & maintained with the ever increasing operating cost due to power.

  • Fluctuating wastewater quality over a period of time.

  • Change in wastewater quantity due to increased production volumes.

  • Due to either one or all the reasons, the existing plants are unable to effectively treat wastewater being generated & with the ever increasing stringent norms of 'Discharge' lands into 'violations' of Pollution Control Board Laws”.
